In the constant flow of images, we are careful to highlight ourselves as the best version of ourselves. If it is real, it will be a reasonable picture of who we are. If the best version of ourselves does not exist as WE want it to be, then we create our own version of what we want to look like by digitally manipulating our appearance to others. Often completely without shame and fear of being caught for this lie. Why is it like that? Are we so afraid to show ourselves in front of others? Do we feel vulnerable? We look at pictures of the great masters with envious eyes as they show people’s ravaged faces, crying faces, real faces and marvel at the beauty of other people’s looks and feel exclusive to share this, but we do not offer our own innermost for others without first applying filters and masks.
